The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) is pleased to announce the 2012-2013 La Raza Youth Leadership Award for graduating high school seniors.
Six scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each shall be awarded. The award will be provided for two consecutive semesters in the amount of $500.00 per semester. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate academic merit and dedication to the Hispanic/Latino commu-nity and participation in the LA RAZA Youth Leadership Program. Financial need is not a criterion for this award, however, applicants are encouraged to apply for financial aid by completing a 2012-2013 FAFSA form. Students must meet the University of Colorado Denver admission criteria.

Student Qualifications:

  1. Applicant must be: A 2012 High School Graduating Senior and “Accepted to the University of Colorado Denver , on or before Friday, March 30th 2012” as a full time degree seeking student for the Fall 2012 semester
  2. Applicant must be: classified as a Colorado Resident as defined by the statute for in-state classification and must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
  3. As a CU Denver student your participation in the University of Colorado Denver “SLIC” Student Leaders Initiating Change Program is required
  4. Applicant must have a cumulative High School G.P.A. of 3.0 at time of admission to the University of Colorado Denver
